CBD Product Review
Hemp Source
CannaVest’s hemp is grown in Europe. Not much else is known and further investigation is required to provide an informed opinion.
Labeling/Packaging
We marked a point off because the product did not come in a box.
Visual Inspection
Sounds thick when shaken. The oil inside is a milky (non-translucent) caramel color. The dropper remains coated with an opaque residue when completely empty. Looks clean.
Dose Amount
PLUS CBD Oil requires 2 full droppers for a full dose of 20mg of CBD. If you only require 10mg, 1 dropper is a little easier to swallow.
Taste/Palatability
It’s good at first, a little sweet. Too sweet for me but that’s my opinion. Unfortunately, when the sweet goes away there is a terrible aftertaste. Like the aftertaste from a diet soda. Not a big fan.
Other Ingredients
There is too much going on here for us. Vegetable Glycerin and Water as a base means they need to add preservatives and emulsifiers like Polysorbate 80, Lecithin and Potassium Sorbate (this is where the milky appearance comes from). And finally, the Vegetable Glycerin and Stevia Leaf Extract provide an unwanted aftertaste.
Discounts Available
There are no discounts for PLUS CBD Oil. That being said, we could not mark them down in this section because their regular price is so darn low.
Product Guarantee
CannaVest says they provide a 14-day guarantee on UNOPENED product. Not the best, but it is something.
User Comments
It is not clear to me at all what this page is supposed to show or about what product!
Hey Ronald, we had these products interdependently tested for cannabinoids so you as a consumer can make an informed decision when buying. Luckily, all the products we tested had well above the stated cannabinoids. That means, it all comes down to price, taste and overall satisfaction with the product and manufacturer. Let me know if you need help making sense of all the numbers.
You’re not going to get the Information in the “normal” fashion because in the State of Alabama CBD is ILLEGAL! Isn’t our state just a bit hypocritical? We can make it, sell it and ship it out of alabama, however, we cannot have it shipped to us nor are we permitted to try it. Read between the lines and you should find what you’re looking for…
I was unable to find the 1oz 500mgs concentration on the cannavest site and what they have doesn’t appear to have THC. Comments?
Ronald
Hi, I love your site I am using it to evaluate which product to get for my wife who suffers from GAD. We started her on the Plus CBD Oil but I can’t make sense of all the numbers. On the bottle it says:
Per serving size:
Hemp Oil (Aerial Plant Parts) 12mg
(Cannabadiol (CBD) 1mg)
What does this mean? Is on the CBD number relevant?
I’ve been considering switching her to another product because this one doesn’t seem to be working even increasing her dose significantly. She took the equivalent of about 16mg of CBD the other day (32 sprays) and nothing.
I was going to order the CW botanicals one when I saw it said 11mg of Hemp Extracts (aerial plant parts) but it doesn’t state the CBD amount? I’m still not sure what the difference is. I’m not sure if I should order that one if the dosing would be the same.
Plus CBD and their company Cannavest does a great job of clearly stating the amount of CBD (Cannabidiol) in their products. Other companies are reluctant to use the term CBD (Cannabidiol) because of its association with marijuana. CBD can be found in both hemp and marijuana. That immediately creates a stigma around CBD that a lot of “supply chain” companies and quite frankly banks don’t want to deal with.
So what do those companies do? They put the total amount of CBD right on the front of the package… 250, 500, 3,000! You mentioned CW. We reviewed their “Charlotte’s Web 500”. Lets take a look at their numbers.
500mg CBD divided by 30 servings equals 16.7mg CBD per serving. On Supplement Facts panel it says there is 28mg of hemp extract per serving. So if CW did things like Cannavest their Sup Facts would look like this:
————————————————-
Hemp Oil Extract (Aerial Plant Parts) 28mg
(Cannabidiol (CBD) 16.7mg)
————————————————-
So CW’s hemp extract is %59.6 CBD!!!!! 16.7/28*100=59.6
Now let’s take a look at the Plus CBD Oil we reviewed (also a 500mg CBD product)
————————————————-
Hemp Oil Extract (Aerial Plant Parts) 28mg
(Cannabidiol (CBD) 3mg)
————————————————-
So Plus CBD Oil’s hemp extract is %10.7 CBD (Green Label). 3/28*100=10.7
I am not sure what Plus CBD Oil you have but lets use your numbers
————————————————-
Hemp Oil Extract (Aerial Plant Parts) 12mg
(Cannabidiol (CBD) 1mg)
————————————————-
So your wife’s Plus CBD Oil’s hemp extract is %8.3 CBD (it must have a red label). 1/12*100=8.3
So, don’t go off the hemp extract number. It won’t tell you how much CBD is in the product. The total amount of CBD will most likely be printed on the front of the product. It is the amount of CBD per serving that you may need to figure out.
how do you order this CBD
There should be a link to the parent company at the top of this page.
I have a question for “Admin”; What is the best type of CBD to take if a person suffers: chronic pain, detioration of the spine, scoliosis, depression, osteoarthritis, SEVERE migraines, fibromyalgia, and anxiety due to the hypocrisy of our government? I am very serious…
All the products on this site have been tested for CBD potency and passed with flying colors! Pick one and give it a go. There are one or two companies that will let you return the product if you are unhappy with it. Good luck!
Does CBD oil need THC to be effective?
No. But they do work well together.
Can you vape with it
No, none of these products can be vaped.
Where are you at? Is this a dispensary? How can I get some?
All of the products on this website can be purchased directly from their respective manufacturer both over the phone or online. You can find a button at the top of this page to “Buy from CannaVest”.
Was this review for the drops or the spray? The picture shows the spray, but the review talks about using the dropper for dosage. I’m curious about which one is better and if any contain THC.
Thanks!
This is the spray.
Do you have CBD oil that can be vaped? I have FSGS and have read cbd can help prevent it from getting worse (along with proper diet etc) But I’m not sure how much cbd oil I need per day. I’d prefer to vape it.
None of these products should be vaped. We do not promote vaping on this site, yet.
Hello,

Sorry Jagdev, we do not sell any product on this site. You can find a link at the top of this page, to the company that makes this product. Not sure if they will ship to India. Will you come back and share with others what you have found? Thank you.
Hi, dear, I have a question about this Plus CBD Oil. I am very confused by how you calculate the amount of CBD per dose. I have a bottle of the Plus CBD Oil extra strength in my hand just like the photo you have. It clearly says that each serving which is 2 sprays has Hemp Oil 36 mg, that includes CBd of 3mg. So that is really different from what you wrote of one serving of CBD amount 20.53 mg?? Please clarify for me? I am looking forward to your reply. Thank you.
Great question. All the products we compared started with roughly 500mg CBD per bottle. For our comparison we assumed that one bottle lasted 30 days (30 doses). So, while the product suggests (160) 3mg CBD servings, we used (30) servings which came out to 20.53mg CBD per dose.
Dear Reviewer,
Thank you so much for your wonderful website and very helpful answer to my question. I really appreciate the very helpful and honest service you are providing to so many people on your website. I love that your website is not for profit. I think you are helping many people. So thank you so much.
I’m confused about how you determine the CBDs per dose. It would seem that you would divide the total mg. CBD by the number of doses in the bottle and it would give you the CBDs per dose, but your numbers do not reflect that in the reviews. My bottle of Plus CBD oil (presumably the 500mg one, though it doesn’t say that anywhere on the bottle) seems to say that the CBD per serving is 3 mg., not the 21.9 you list. Am I missing something? Can you clarify this for me? Thank you.
Sorry for the confusion Nancy. Technically there should be 3mg CBD * 160 doses, which gives you 480mg CBD total. But! We had this product tested by an independent third party lab. They provided the numbers you see at the top. The bottle we tested had 607.5mg of CBD, well over the 480mg (assumed but not stated). I don’t know if you saw the previous reply, but we disregarded the suggested dosing for all products, and assumed each product had 30 doses. The number listed above (21.29mg) is the total number of cannabinoids per (1) 2ml dose.
All the products we tested had roughly the same amount of CBD. Some say to take a lot. Some say to take a little. Dividing them all by 30 doses helped us compare apples to apples. Hope that helps.
Too many FILLERS. I want the purest possible.
